past demons came back to do battle.
The most powerful thing a man can do when he is about to stumble and fall is to kneel.
When a man is knelt down, he is saying , "Lord I am weak but You are strong."
As I was battling with some interior matters a picture came to mind and I imagine Jesus and I on a boat with an angel from Heaven. Then I imagine facing a giant or shadowy serpent figure.
Jesus said to it, "You shall NOT have her. Just as I have conquered you, so shall she conquer you..."
and I am reminded of two incidents from the new testament ; Mark 4:35-38 and Matthew 14:22-33
I am comforted....
Being brave isn't about never being afraid ...it's about facing our fears even though we are afraid.
This is a personal experience and encounter with God in my interior being.
in Psalm 46:10 it says "Be still and know that I am God."
We find God in the silence.
In this busy world, with challenges and competition, it's always hard to give a good excuse to stop, sit/kneel and listen.
Spending even a little bit of time with the Eucharist is so so so so so good for the soul. Praying, meditating, contemplating, discerning the Word of God...is not for His benefit...but ours.
What a great privilege to have the Sacred Host available to us in the Catholic church...
