Literature Text

I think it queer
that it should begin like this...
upon a hill of summer's kiss
hot like June
but sweet like cold drinks drunk in its happy hour
squeezed of lemon and sweetened in honey
cold in the shades of lime green trees

in the valley one could see
the clouds above like painted tufts of white
creased with yellow and gray upon its hind
trace of colours in wild pursuit
to paint the valley in various hues
of blue and orange upon its residence

while in her silence which oft presides
I found myself walking up the hill the umpteenth time
while walking songs of the valley sung
upon the fruits and flowers which hung
on the boughs of trees and mounted on the top
of heads of hills whose garden grass is soft

I found myself sat beneath a tree
whose stature grander than any of these
which spilled across the garden floor

She bade me come and so I did
beneath her cool and friendly leaves did shade
me from the fury of the sun

While I basked in her friendly offer of cooling shade
I saw her flowers bloom in passion red and orange marmalade
all spoke of spring, hope and things
which provokes the soul to rejoice in each and every thing

I did not think that she would do
what she did I almost fled in fright for she did what I had not expect her to
She spoke in a kind of wheezy voice
which could silence any kind of noise
her voice though tinged in age but filled with gentle love...
shook the air and withdrew the birds towards the skies...

Her stature I would describe to you
formidable, commendable and admirable if you please...
her leaves were a prompt sight of green
her boughs were firm as was her tree
brown like autumn, firm as the faiths of saints of the Gospels
Yea, those of the new testament apostles

"Eat the fruit which I have grown
surrounded in the flowers sown
from seed it sprouted and then it bloomed
and fill the earth amidst with springs of flowers
Lean on me for I am one of many
trees which grow in places where you could only find
if you walk in the narrow gates aye you indeed shall find
the thorns shall tear and spite you in every side
but know that if you suffer these
you shall in the end find joy and peace
for Christ Himself bore our sufferings
that we may inherit that which He has to give

Christ is love
and He is peace
He is mercy, grace and above all these
He is love and love sums all of which
can give you taste of what Heaven can be

Lean on me for I am a tree
whom God has sown that all who come to me may be
able to taste the fruits of wisdom and drink of gladdened wine
which comes from its flesh yea, that sweet voluptuous taste so fine
I shall teach you right from wrong
shall part your sorrows and your songs
and tell you that both are equally
investments worth investing if you are seeking Heaven eternity
take the yoke and take Christ's hand
for He shall lead you to the holy land
which He promised all our forefathers
who came before each of us...

I shall give you what you need
I shall teach you how to love and give
the Holy Spirit teaches those who are willing
and even those who refuse Him, He shall still be in hot pursuit
for He wishes nothing more
than to give them all the treasures from the Heavenly Father's store...

cast your burdens all on Him
and find rest indeed in Him...and know that He is God

The earth shall shatter
and man can divide
but in the end in Whom shall man find rest?
Yahweh God Jesus Christ the Lord in manifest
born of the Father and fruit of the Holy Spirit....
then my dear, lean upon me
and find Him near you always, and always
when you lean unto me...my dear,
I shall whisper things which scholars could not hear
for I am wisdom and I teach what the Father imparts
to eager and willing stone or flesh made hearts
if stone I should grind you slowly
then crush you when your heart grows more vulnerable...."

Then she made the blossom, rose and all which came from these
kinds of flowers disperse like fireworks erupting in the air
made a garland of flowers coronet her green and leafy hair

She sighed along with the wind
and then she turned to look at the sun in the skies
"Be it a man, woman, child or tree
they cannot burn nor bring Yahweh God pleasing offering
if he does not first cast his pride and ambition aside
for they are things which can hinder man from seeing Jesus Christ
yea, man is stubborn but if he repents
the angel of Heaven and Mother Mary shall in persistent recommend
his soul to rest in the arms of Jesus Christ..."

While I sat beneath the tree
I found solace here where the hills were bursting with flowers and trees
which bore fruit, wine and glad combined
I sat there resting underneath the shade which she provided...

She shook her head and her coronet
prestigious upon her formidable head
she shook it again and the birds flew up to the skies
she fixed her eyes where they have taken flight
I sat beneath her in awe and wonder
at such a queer and unexpected encounter

Yea, the Lord brings seeds of wisdom in which man can never comprehend
and in due time reveal him unto them....
if the heart is willing
and if the heart though stoned with pride and heathen prejudice
if he turns even once at Yahweh God
he would heal them and make their hearts flesh once more...

the tree which stood upon the top of the mount remained
while the winds of noon came by and the flowers shook their heads
the birds twittered from somewhere far away...
while I conversed with a formidable tree that day....
As I am enrolled in TESOL at the moment, I am trying to complete all my assignments. I enjoy studying and learning new things...I am currently in my third module...of which shall be followed by the final module 4 and followed by graduation....I hope to take up a diploma in grammar and literature as well... digression aside in this current module...I am taught by a teacher from India, Mrs Sunbeam. Initially, all the students told me..that she  was strict...and how the other teachers described her made me think that she was someone you wouldn't want to cross... so when it came to the day when I was to attend her class for the first time, I was afraid to see how she would treat the students...but to my surprise...she was NOT like how the students described her at all. She was nice and very knowledgeable... her lessons are interesting and her way of teaching captures all of my attention. She makes me want to learn more.  During the break on the first day of class, I stayed behind to talk to her. I found myself able to share things which I could not share with the other two teachers whom were equally as nice and knowledgeable. There was something which drew me towards her...and I think it is the Holy Spirit. For when she told me she attended mass in St. John's Cathedral...I was filled with joy. I had a Catholic teacher. Then we had a bit of sharing...and she gave me words of encouragement. I found out a few things and the things which I found out, made me admire her even more. I adore and love her so much that I hope to become half the teacher whom she is.  Today she spoke of a particular poem which involved winter and of a tree....which I cannot recall the poet's name at the moment. The talk about the tree made me imagine a beautiful tree with crimson red flowers and fruits and other kinds of breeding plants surrounding it.
She spoke of drought and that of rain. Then as she left, inside of me...made me see her like that of a mighty and steadfast tree....

I struggled much like straining water from a sack to gather inside a cup...and below is the result of my contemplation in silence tonight;

Dedicated to Mrs Sunbeam Coz I like her lots.
